Tarek holds an MSc. in Information Security and is an international trainer who teaches at Black Hat, HITB, and other major conferences. He is also the technical advisor for GISEC, the largest security conference in the Middle East, and is a previous OWASP Dubai Chapter Leader. With over 20 years of experience, Tarek started his career as a penetration tester in the UK where he worked with companies like BBC, Sky, Heinz, Ericsson, and BT. Following that he relocated to Dubai as a senior penetration tester for Verizon. He then transitioned to a lead security architect role at MBC where he led high-end and complex projects. His last role was SME at Qualys, following which he left corporate life to focus on building AstraSec.io and HackersAcademy.com.
